My name is Kaitlyn Trimarchi and I am running this marathon in honor of my best friend Haley, who passed away in January after a battle with metastatic breast cancer. Haley was the kind of person who made everyone around her feel seen, and losing her has changed the way I think about time, connection, and what really matters. Every mile of training has been a way to process that loss while doing something that actually helps other families avoid the same outcome.
A little about me: I’m a California native living in San Francisco, working as a pediatric occupational therapist with kids with neurodevelopmental differences. When I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me running, on my yoga mat, or at pilates. This race brings a few of my favorite things together: movement, community, and now, a cause that means everything to me.
