Stony Brook Cancer Center team receives $11 million grant from the NIH to translate discoveries into treatments
More than 35 runners, including Long Islanders, pounded the pavement at the New York City Marathon Sunday for a special cause.
Through the support of the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund, our researchers will learn more about breast cancer, providing us better methods of detection and treatment,” said William Wertheim, MD, interim executive vice president of Stony Brook Medicine. “This endowed gift will allow that important work to continue in perpetuity as our researchers search for advances in technology and medicine.”
More than 400 new patients are treated for breast cancer at the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Care Center annually. Hundreds more have follow-up appointments lasting through treatment.
